Students win National Nano Competition

Two groups of 5th Year Chemistry Students have been awarded 1st and 2nd place in the CRANN “Whats next for Nano?” national poster competition.
1st Place: Susan W, Akaotah O, Megan O’D and Niamh M
2nd Place: Clodagh F, Rachel F, Benita F and Catherine H
The competition asked the students to predict where they saw nanotechnology being used in the future. The posters were on display in the Science Gallery Studios on Friday 20th April. On Saturday 21st, the girls received their prizes of ipod nanos at the Irish Science Teachers Association 50th Annual Conference.

Over the Easter holidays, Transition and Fifth Year pupils went to Paris, France. The girls enjoyed four fun-filled days visiting some of Paris’ famous sights such as the Eiffel tower and a day trip to Disneyland! Above they are pictured at Sacre Coeur, Montmartre, Paris. A big thanks from the students to Ms. Hayes who organised everything and to all the chaperoning teachers!
