Transition Year trip to Lough Derg

The rain lashed down and the wind blew hard on the island of Lough Derg but nothing could stop the Transition Years from enjoying a memorable trip to this ancient pilgrimage site in Co. Donegal. The Transition Years followed in the footsteps of pilgrims who have been travelling to Lough Derg from all over the world for over 1200 years and their day of reflection will no doubts live long in their memory.

Students win National Nano Competition

Two groups of 5th Year Chemistry Students have been awarded 1st and 2nd place in the CRANN “Whats next for Nano?” national poster competition.

1st Place: Susan W, Akaotah O, Megan O’D and Niamh M
The competition asked the students to predict where they saw nanotechnology being used in the future. The posters were on display in the Science Gallery Studios on Friday 20th April. On Saturday 21st, the girls received their prizes of ipod nanos at the Irish Science Teachers Association 50th Annual Conference.
